New developments in CytoClus - interactive viewing of all imaged particles and their pulse shapes

As we are all affected with the COVID-19 outbreak, our team is mostly working from home. We are maintaining all our services and support for our customers and prospects. We wish you the best for these coming times and let's hope it will pass as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we would like to share some new developments in CytoClus, our data-analysis software. The main upgrades in CytoClus  are (Fig. 1): the  new "Image Overview Window"    and  the new   "Profile Collection Window". The Collection of Images (Fig. 1, left) in previous CytoClus versions could only be seen after generating it and saving it as a file. In order to make it more handy and interactive we integrated it as an option within other plots. Moreover, you can now select different sets, look at their images, and after modifying gates this display updates automatically!  You can also select just one individual particle, which wlll be highlighted in all other plots. This is useful for general insight into the particle's properties. Previously, pulse shapes were shown only in the particle viewer, for a single particle at the time.  Now, the "Collection of Profiles" window (Fig. 1, right) displays multiple pulse shapes for a collection of particles. With this option you can now quickly check the profiles of particles within your selected set and redefine your sets accordingly.

Image Overview Window

With this option you have a direct insight into the diversity of all imaged particles or of imaged particles in a defined set (Fig. 2). In previous software versions this was possible only after saving the generated overview image; now you can have a direct and interactive view.

*Note: Due to the high amount of images in the image overview window, depending on the size of a window, images might be spread over several pages (Fig. 2). In the lower left corner you can switch pages by clicking on the different tabs.

Profile Collection Window

This window is basically an extended version of the particle viewer window. This new window displays pulse shapes of a collection of particles (all scanned particles in a file or from a selected set) (Fig. 3).

*Note: Pulse shapes correspond to all particles in the selected set, meaning not necessarily imaged particles.The benefits of these new features are:

1. Direct insight into imaged particles

2. Better definition of sets (you can now interactively define outliers either by their pulse profile or images and re-define sets)

3. Direct insight into all photos and pulse shapes within all imaged particles or a particular selected set of particles
