The CytoSense may be upgraded with sorter device, consisting of a physical add-on
module with a piezo driven fluid switch and a pressure control valve , filter housing and
accessories to catch target particles on a small polycarbonate filter, and an electronics
unit with adjustable delay. This implies that the CytoSense will become a bigger benchtop
device for interactive operation. Owing to the very large flow channel size of CytoSense
instrument it is impossible to use droplet sorting - instead a fluid switch sorting is
required with sort rates of max. ca 100 particles per second.
